Heavy Inventories is a mod that may not be among the most popular Minecraft mods available but, overall, it’s still a cleverly designed mod that a certain audience of players is definitely going to appreciate. The mod surfaced back in June 2016 and, while it’s sitting at less than 2000 downloads, it’s still a mod that’s worth looking into because the functionality that it brings to Minecraft is actually quite unique and, on top of this, it receives updates on a frequent basis as well so it’s almost always up to date and fully compatible with the latest versions of Minecraft.
The Heavy Inventories has essentially been designed to make the inventory of Minecraft feel more realistic. As of right now, the inventory of Minecraft is quite similar to that of a pretty generic in-game inventory because it doesn’t really have proper consistency as far as item weight is concerned. The Heavy Inventories mod features a full-fledged system that not only adds proper weight measurement to the game but also implements a new measurement unit known as stone in order to ensure consistency throughout the game.
One important thing worth noting about the Heavy Inventories mod is the fact that it gives players full control over the actual weights of the items so you can configure each item to have whatever weight you deem is appropriate. Another thing you’ll need to keep in mind is the fact that, if you’re using the Heavy Inventories mod on a version of Minecraft that’s above 1.11.2, you’ll need to have SuperCore installed because the mod will cease to function properly otherwise. All things considered, Heavy Inventories may not be the most popular mod out there but it’s still worth giving a shot to given its unique concept and top notch execution.
