Anyone who has seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy has been privy to a number of fantastic environments, compelling characters and a plain old good story on top of everything else. Perhaps the most iconic battleground from the series is Helm’s Deep, which is faithfully recreated in this Helm’s Deep map by soldierpig123. In addition to creating a scale model which looks an awful lot like the one from the books and movies, the author also added a number of new, interesting features for players to explore and try at their leisure.
The fact the author took a great deal of inspiration from an actual LEGO model of the same castle is just too perfect when you consider how blocky Minecraft is. For him, it was just like putting the same set of blocks together again, only in a different environment. For the rest of us, it’s a big, roomy map with plenty of corners to find and explore, though you won’t be seeing any hordes containing hundreds of thousands of orcs unless you do some modding or otherwise changes things up.
As it is, this map is a fine recreation of a fierce battleground, so it seems it would be perfect for staging a fight or small war of your own.
