For Minecraft players seeking a world with graphics that make everything look even more like a video game or a cartoon, Livi’s Resource Pack is worth a look. The pack utilizes lots of flat colors and simple designs to create visuals that look like they might just have been drawn by hand. Some things, like cows, are simply the exact same object or mob in this case, but with a palette swap. Other blocks, items and mobs look completely different. This is especially true of bookshelves which look more like black panels packed with flashing lights than any bookshelf seen before.
Livi’s Texture Pack manages to do all this while keeping things relatively simple. The low 16X resolution makes the pack very accessible and allows even players with low-end computers to dress up their Minecraft worlds in style. This pack features some support for random blocks as well, with some of the blocks having multiple textures which look quite nice when put next to each other. Of course you won’t see these special secondary or tertiary textures unless you go to your Minecraft options and turn on random blocks. That feature could even be off without you knowing it if you use Optifine.
With all of the textures and custom animations added already, it would seem that Livi’s resource pack must be nearing completion. The author claims it’s only about halfway done though. Livi’s Pack works great with Minecraft versions 1.8.X, but if you try using it with older game clients or the newest Minecraft 1.9 then you should expect to run into a few issues. Overall, this pack looks great so far, but it’s still just another unfinished resource pack waiting to be completed.
