Mob Capper Mod for Minecraft 1.11.2/1.10.2

Mob Capper is a great mod that comes with a pretty simple function that might not seem like much on paper but is actually quite impactful and is something that a lot of players will want installed. You can probably tell from the name what the mod’s been designed to do and, all things considered, it does its job quite nicely so you won’t need any other similar mods installed. It’s worth mentioning that the mod isn’t necessarily the most popular out there since it’s only sitting at roughly 1100 downloads even though it’s been out for a while now but, nonetheless, it’s a solid mod that you can’t really go wrong with.

The goal of the Mob Capper mod, as the name suggests, is to make sure that the amount of mobs in a certain area of the game world doesn’t exceed a certain limit. The map will basically cap the number of entities that can be present in one particular area of the Minecraft world and this can be useful for tons of obvious reasons. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that the Mob Capper doesn’t affect mobs that are owned/tamed and it doesn’t affect boss or merchant mobs either so you won’t be able to cap them through this mod.

To use the Mob Capper, you’ll need to tinker around with the mob’s config a little bit because it doesn’t work properly otherwise. Using the mod’s config is pretty easy and doesn’t require players to have a lot of technical knowledge. Through the configuration file, you’ll be able to determine what mobs this mod targets and what density it should set them as. All said and done, Mob Capper is a great mod that you might not use all the time but it’s still something that you’ll want to have installed on your Minecraft client just in case.

Adds mob logging support, if you enable it in configs, it will log all the mobs that it lets spawn, as well as all the mobs that it culled.
Adds config to enable use on clients, this should be off if it is in a server modpack.
