Minecraft is essentially a game about building homes, farming crops and killing off hostile mobs, but there are other aspects to the game as well. For instance, musical blocks and music discs won from creepers add a variety of sound to the game. However, once most players are done experimenting with a few blocks or listening to all the different discs, the music can get kind of boring and old. That’s where Musiccraft 2 mod comes in and shakes things up in a pleasant way. This mod adds a number of different playable instruments to Minecraft, including a piano, guitar, drums, violins and more.
These are all played in a fashion very similar to the note blocks, where the player must right click the instrument in various spots to produce different tones. For any players who have ever wanted to get a group of friends together and start a band, this Minecraft mod is definitely something worth downloading and installing. Granted, most of the instruments have a limited number of sounds which they can make, but that’s still many more sounds than are included in the standard Minecraft game. Musiccraft 2 mod also includes some minor cosmetic updates for the different types of trees as well.
That’s because making specific instruments actually calls for specific types of wood; pianos require oak wood and so on. Being able to tell the different woods apart at a glance makes construction faster than if the player had to mouse over the different blocks in his or her inventory. Some of the smaller instruments are also equipped by the player, much like swords and tools, so players aren’t required to stand still in one spot for those. The mod includes about a dozen different new crafting recipes, so be sure to check out the Musiccraft 2 mod website for more information on how to make those instruments.
