With a name like The Wooden Puzzles, you’d probably figure this map has a ton of puzzles in it. It does, and solving the puzzles and clearing the map will depend on your ability to intelligently use your wooden resources to make it happen. Sometimes this will require you to simply place wood and use it to climb. Other times you’ll need to use it as a fuel source to smelt something else, so you can then use that finished item to escape a room or complete a puzzle. There are still other times when you’ll need to trade your wood with NPCs to get necessary items.
It’s really an interesting concept. It’s also executed fairly well. Because of these two things, even puzzle veterans will want to give The Wooden Puzzles map a playthrough. It’s not like many other puzzle maps because of these unique features, but it is still similar enough that puzzle players will feel comfortable. You won’t find solution methods repeating too often either. Basically, you won’t find a bunch of puzzles where smelting or trading will get you through; you’ll need to use a varied scheme of tactics and strategies to come out on top here.
