BlockPixel is a resource pack that’s actually been around for around seven years, but it’s mainly been popular among the Chinese community so we never really got to see much of it throughout all this time. However, as of recently, the pack’s been updated to function with 1.12.2 and has been given a full release for western audiences so you’ll be able to give it a shot and see for yourself what it has to offer. The amount of effort that’s gone into making this pack is absolutely insane, and you’ll definitely be missing out if you didn’t try it out at least once.
The BlockPixel resource pack features a unique new design technique in which all the textures are made up of square patterns, and this particular design is definitely great for a Minecraft resource pack because the game has a blocky core design as is and this helps enforce the blocky look that Minecraft has always had. The detail in the textures is quite exceptional, and the pack features a variety of creative, dynamic textures that are a sight to behold. The color palette seems to be a lot darker that what we’ve grown used to over the years but the darker colors tend to synergize better with this pack’s overall design so they’re a welcome change that we can’t really complain about.
BlockPixel has the standard Minecraft resolution of 16×16, and this means that the pack is accessible to pretty much the entirety of the Minecraft playerbase as it can function on any computer that can handle the vanilla version of the game without running into trouble.
