The Early Autumn Pack (Or Rusticale resource pack for some) is an attempt to make Minecraft look like it’s in a permanent state of autumn, or fall if you prefer. This means lots of trees that look like they’re on fire with yellow, red and orange leaves, though there is certainly no shortage of green to be seen either. It looks like early autumn rather than late autumn, like just rounding the corner from spring rather than flying off into winter. Surprisingly, all of the wood logs get redone textures in this pack. Normally trees are the one thing people ignore to focus elsewhere, but that’s not the case here.
The new user interface or GUI is one of the best parts about the Early Autumn resource pack. It’s bold and kind of gritty, with menu option backers that look like cracked stone bricks. Not all of the textures look better though. Glass, for instance, actually looked a bit better in vanilla Minecraft. It has these strange gray edges between the blocks and panes that were never there before and that’s kind of weird the first time you see it. Like many other packs, you’ll probably want to grab a CTM or better glass mod to make the glass here look more realistic.
As of now, the Early Autumn resource pack still needs a lot of work. At about 20% complete it’s only a fifth finished, but the author is still making regular updates on it. It’s got that perfect kind of balance between an old, rustic look and fresh, colorful textures like you’d expect to see from a land going through autumn. The 16x resolution means anyone who can run Minecraft can use the pack too, which is nice.
