Like the name suggests, the Extremely Simple Craft resource pack dumbs down the textures in Minecraft even further, lowering them from the already low 16x resolution to 8x. You’ll swear some of the things you look at couldn’t even be 4x though with how awful some of the textures look. Surprisingly, the author was able to keep the different types of ores distinctive enough from each other, but every type of wooden block and plank looks the same – just palette swaps there. It’s not a very pretty pack, but Extremely Simple Craft is a great option for players who have trouble running vanilla Minecraft.
Even textures which were normally simple but still discernible from one another, like the polished versions of granite, andesite and diorite are all drab, flat and bland, looking exactly alike in this pack except for being different colors. Extremely Simple Craft is truer to its namesake than most other resource packs are, so that’s one positive thing to say about it. There aren’t many others though. If you’re a fan of simple packs or suffer from performance issues then yeah, you might want to give this one a look. Everyone else should avoid it like the blotchy, muddy mess that it is.
Literally none of the textures are improved. Some lower than default res packs manage to cut down on choppy play while also making their simplified textures pop and look even better than higher resolution ones. That is not the case with the Extremely Simple Craft resouroce pack. This thing will have you wondering if someone just clicked the paint can tool in MS Paint and blasted the same ugly color all over a fifth of the textures in Minecraft, just clicking randomly and letting it splatter where it may.
