FeatherSong Resource Pack for Minecraft 1.8.1

FeatherSong is one of those rare resource packs which is fully functional upon downloading and installing, but can be made to look even better with a patch or two. Namely, the HD patch which is available with FeatherSong will significantly improve the appearance of liquids like lava and water, but again, it isn’t necessary for this resource pack to work. In fact, implementing HD liquids could push this resource pack out of the realm of usability for some Minecraft players, which is a main reason those two textures aren’t included standard. Overall, FeatherSong has a nice look to it and players generally like it.

For fans of resource packs with a medieval theme, FeatherSong should satisfy. It is slightly dark, but not overly so, with a kind of rustic and worn look that accompanies most construction and building blocks in the game. Everything looks used in a sense, and very few of the textures look new or fresh, so you won’t have to worry about a world which is overly bright and cheery with FeatherSong installed. This is even more impressive when you consider that nearly 100% of the resource pack was designed and created using nothing more than basic pixel art – stuff like straight out of MS Paint.

Naturally, the limited scope of the textures and the lack of bold, bright colors means FeatherSong is one of the smaller resource packs out there, and it comes in at a resolution of 16x. Even though it is a relatively small pack, FeatherSong also includes updates for hostile mobs as well as friendly ones like villagers, cows, pigs and more, effectively changing the look of a majority of textures throughout Minecraft. It’s small, simple and easy to use, which only adds to the popularity of it.
FeatherSong is a low-resolution resource pack which changes more of Minecraft than many larger packs.
