There’s a pretty funny story behind the origin of the Kastelle resource pack. The developer Sparkelz99 states that it wasn’t originally intended to be a full-fledged and proper resource pack that the community could use. It was initially made to joke around and test a few things, but it ended up being much better than the developer expected, so it was then further refined and released to the public. Right from the first glance, you’ll see that this is a really high-quality pack that makes the game looks absolutely brilliant.
There are plenty of things that separate the Kastelle resource pack from the rest of the pack. For example, while most other resource packs tend to use shaders designed by other developers or even some textures from other resource packs, the Kastelle pack doesn’t. Every single texture and all the in-game pixel art has been designed from scratch by the developer and that’s exactly what makes this pack worth trying out since it’ll look really unique as all the visuals elements have been designed anew.
The Kastelle resource pack is an x32 pack and is designed to give a semi-realistic look to Minecraft, emphasis on the ‘semi’ of semi-realistic. The pack doesn’t try to deliver a fully realistic experience but instead tries to make things feel unique and refreshing by changing the way some textures are designed. The pack does have a few pre-requisites though. First and foremost is that you need to turn off Alternate Blocks to avoid weird glitches like blocks being rotated and alongside that you need to make sure that the graphics settings are set to Fancy to make sure that it runs at its absolute fullest. Of course, this does mean that you’ll need a relatively beefy PC to run the Kastelle pack without any issues.
