Logical Drops is a fairly simple mod that’s been designed to add a sense of realism to Minecraft. As the name suggests, the focus of this mod is towards the drops of Minecraft and it aims to make it so that the items dropped from mobs seem logical and not random. As it is right now, the drops from Minecraft mobs can be rather confusing at times because various animals and enemies drop things that they simply shouldn’t be dropping. The Logical Drops mob makes it so that every single drop from every single entity is something that makes sense and doesn’t seem random.
It’s worth mentioning that the Logical Drops isn’t necessarily a large scale mod and it doesn’t make any major functionality changes either. The only change that this mod makes to Minecraft is that it modifies the dropping logic of the game a little bit to make it so that all the drops seem realistic and logical. Once you apply this mod, you’ll hardly ever encounter random drops and every single thing that you’ll receive as a drop upon killing an entity will be something that makes sense coming from that particular entity.
One rather unfortunate thing about this mod is the fact that it doesn’t really have any customization options at all, so you’ll have to use the same configuration that it comes with. One rather peculiar thing that we noticed about this mod is that it significantly increases the amount of food that mobs drop and this is definitely a good thing because you’ll pretty much never run out of food when playing Minecraft. The mod’s available for Minecraft 1.12.2, 1.11.2, 1.10.2 and 1.7.10 so you’ll need to be on one of these versions of the game in order to use it. As for its technical aspects, Logical Drops is pretty much bug-free, so you probably won’t have any trouble when using it.
