MC Ultimate Apocalypse gives players a taste of what Minecraft would be like if it took place in a post-apocalyptic world that was razed to the ashes after a catastrophe. It’s definitely one of the more distinct options available when it comes to resource packs since not many of these packs focus on a post-apocalyptic theme, and those that do focus on said theme don’t really do it any justice. The pack gives Minecraft a pretty major overhaul but alongside this, it tries to stay faithful to the game’s original x16 art style that so many players have grown fond of.
MC Ultimate Apocalypse was formerly known as the FallenEarth resource pack, but development on the FallenEarth pack had to be halted due to various copyright issues which is why it had to be canceled, and Ultimate Apocalypse had to be made in its place. The pack shares many similarities with the FallenEarth pack but on the other hand, it makes a lot of improvements to it as well which makes for a more immersive experience overall. The pack’s textures are highly detailed, and these textures have been paired with a dark and bleak color scheme to make things feel more immersive.
As mentioned above, MC Ultimate Apocalypse utilizes 16×16 textures which is great news for those who run Minecraft on a low-end PC since they’ll be able to run this pack without having to worry about any major frame-rate problems. The pack also comes with its own custom font as well as a major GUI overhaul, so it’s definitely one of the most feature-filled available today. You’ll need Minecraft 1.10 to run it properly so make sure that you update your client before using it.
