The Mystford map came out fairly recently, and it’s already proven itself to be one of the most engaging and captivating adventure maps of recent times. The map has without a doubt the largest assortment of features that we’ve seen in adventure maps, so it’s more than capable of keeping players hooked from start to finish. It’s worth mentioning that the map requires players to have Minecraft 1.11 – Snapshot 16w43a in order to work because a lot of its features require the latest version of Minecraft in order to function. There’s a variant of the Mystford map for Minecraft 1.10, but that particular version lacks a few key features such as voice acting.
In the Mystford map, players get to travel through an absolutely massive game world that’s filled to the brim with fun things to do. There’s a main quest line that’s tied directly to the plot, and there are also various secondary quests that you can complete if you feel like going the extra mile. The map’s not only engaging to play, but it’s great fun to look at as well because it uses really high-quality custom textures and has some absolutely phenomenal cut-scenes that elevate the experience to a whole new level.
The gameplay of Mystford has lots of great boss fights, many intriguing mobs to slay, tons of spells that players can use, lots of different quest types, and a whole lot else that’s been designed to make sure that players never feel bored or idle when playing this map. In terms of difficulty, Mystford isn’t necessarily the most difficult map out there, but it’s still quite challenging, and you’ll likely have quite a lot of trouble going through some of its sequences, especially the boss fights if your Minecraft skills are lacking in certain areas.
