Oakdale Research Center is an engrossing Minecraft that definitely isn’t for the faint of heart because of its creepy theme and setting. The map’s fairly short, but it’s still more than capable of keeping players hooked from start to finish simply because of how captivating and engaging it is. This is basically the perfect map to play if you’re looking for an immersive horror experience but don’t necessarily want to invest time into a full-fledged map that spans its story across multiple hours and various different sequences.
In Oakdale Research Center, you play the role of a security guard who works the night shift at a strange research institute. One day, while working your shift, you realize that the patients of the center have started to become infected and have started annihilating every single thing inside the center. You, left as basically the only person there who isn’t infected, must figure out a way to keep yourself alive until you can figure a way out. The map’s plot is quite intense, and there are quite a few twists and turns along the way that’ll surely have you hooked until you’ve seen the ending.
The gameplay Oakdale Research Center isn’t really anything out of the ordinary, but it’s still quite enjoyable thanks to the near perfectly executed setting. The gameplay revolves primarily around moving through the facility while avoiding the infected and solving puzzles in order to unlock a way out of the place. The map is fairly easy in terms of the core gameplay so, as long as you have a good grasp of the key gameplay mechanics of Minecraft, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll run into any trouble as you make your way through it. All said and done, Oakdale Research Center is an engrossing adventure map that you can enjoy as long as you have a couple of minutes to spare.
