The Rectangular Resource Pack for Minecraft is definitely one of the most peculiar resource packs out there since it takes a completely unique approach to the way it deals with the textures. Normally in most packs you’ll see that the textures used for the objects are completely symmetrical for instance squares and such but the Rectangular pack, as the name suggests, primarily utilizes rectangles. This creates a very unique and rather cartoon-ish design in the game that definitely makes Minecraft look very distinct and refreshing so it’s a pack worth looking into if you’re tired of all the usual stuff and are looking for something new. The pack has been downloaded just over 3,000 times over its currently 2-year long lifespan which isn’t really that much, but this is to be expected due to its distinct nature.
Before going into any further detail regarding the Rectangular resource pack, it’s worth mentioning beforehand that this is more of an experimental pack and isn’t even fully complete yet, so you’re bound to run into a bunch of different issues while using it like missing textures. The primary focus of this pack is towards the blocks as of right now, so if you’re hoping to see how the rectangular effect works on the other in-game elements like the mobs or particles, then you’ll have to wait a while.
The resolution of the Rectangular resource pack is x64 which isn’t that high, but it’s by no means a low resolution either so you’ll still need a semi-decent mid-range PC to run it without running into any lag or frame rate issues.
