Almost all adventure based Minecraft maps that have come out recently have managed to provide players with a highly immersive and thrilling experience. However, fun as they might be, one thing that this map category has lacked for a while is innovation. Most adventure maps follow the same run-of-the-mill gameplay formula and although this formula leads to some memorable maps, it’s become rather repetitive as of recently since, as mentioned before, pretty much every adventure map uses it. Soulbound, however, is a completely different story. The map features gameplay that’s refreshing and it couples its unique gameplay with a captivating plot as well top notch visuals in order to provide players with one of the most memorable experiences they can get.
The defining characteristic of the Soulbound map is the fact that you can’t play it on your own. The map is meant to be played in co-op mode so you, alongside a friend, will embark on the entire adventure together. The map features high-quality adventure gameplay as well as a few puzzle sequences in between to make sure that things remain fresh and don’t become repetitive. The map has a total of twelve levels and throughout these levels, it manages to tell an amazing story that’s sure to have players hooked onto the map until the very end.
Perhaps the most peculiar thing about the Soulbound map is that it has two different resource packs, one for each player. Each player gets to experience different visuals, and this further strengthens the uniqueness of this map. One thing worth mentioning is that only Player 1 can engage in dialogue sequences with the map’s NPCs so you and your companion will need to decide beforehand about who’s going to be in charge of the dialogue. Overall, this is an absolutely spectacular adventure map that’s more than capable of providing over seven hours of highly immersive gameplay to anyone who tries it out.
