The Colossus is a brand new Minecraft adventure map that just came out but it’s already managed to receive a fair bit of praise and critical acclaim because it’s extremely well designed and can give players an engaging and captivating experience if they choose to try it out. The map doesn’t do anything innovative as far as the gameplay is concerned but it’s still a treat to play because it offers a well thought out plot, engaging adventure gameplay, and, of course, a variety of delightful visuals that are a treat to look at. If you enjoy adventure maps then there’s no doubting the fact that you’re going to enjoy this map as well.
In The Colossus, you’re tasked with defending a village from a threat that seemed to be minor at first but eventually escalated into a huge deal. The village was a peaceful place but mysterious little creatures started showing up to wreak havoc in it. These creatures were easy to deal with at first but eventually, their numbers started to grow exponentially, and now, alongside their boss Ronald, they aim to take down the village and it’s up to you to stop them before it’s too late.
The gameplay of The Colossus consists of fairly standard adventure map elements so, as long as you’ve had some prior experience with adventure maps, you’ll feel right at home with this one. It’s not particularly challenging and it supports multiplayer as well so if you feel that you can’t make your way through the entire adventure by yourself, you can invite a friend to play alongside you so you can take down the enemy forces together. All said and done, The Colossus is an engaging Minecraft map that isn’t innovative in any major way but still manages to deliver an engaging experience by pulling off the fundamentals in a near-flawless manner.
