The Timestop Parkour map definitely scores major points for innovation because it somehow manages to bring a unique concept into a map category that’s started becoming quite stagnant over the years. We’ve seen many delightful and immersive parkour maps throughout our Minecraft adventures, but there’s no doubting the fact that this particular category of maps has started to become a tad bit repetitive over the years because new maps utilize the same cookie-cutter concepts over and over again. Thankfully, though, Timestop Parkour manages to innovate and impress by implementing a creative new gameplay mechanic into the mix for players to enjoy.
You can probably guess the unique mechanic featured in the Timestop Parkour map by simply reading the map’s name. The map actually gives the ability to stop time whenever they want to in order to manipulate the playing field according to their preferences. Alongside the new gameplay mechanic, Timestop Parkour utilizes a new formula as well since, instead of simply running to the end of a course, you’ll have to collect time shards in order to unlock new worlds and progress further into the map. The new gameplay concept and the time stopping mechanic add a ton of depth to the gameplay, and these are things that are sure to have you hooked from the first minute of the map until the end.
It’s important to remember that you’ll need to have Optifine installed beforehand if you want to utilize the map to its fullest extent because it has certain features that rely on Optifine in order to function. Also, the map’s been designed to function solely on Minecraft 1.12 so, if you’re on an older version of the game, you’ll need to upgrade your Minecraft client in order to play the map without running into a ton of different technical issues.
