Given the current time of the year, a significant influx of Halloween themed Minecraft maps is pretty much to be expected because it’s basically the perfect time to release them in order to get players into the spirit of the holiday. If you’re looking for a solid Halloween themed map that doesn’t cease to impress then Trick or Treat is something that’s certainly worth trying out because it’s fairly well crafted and has quite a bit to offer. Trick or Treat doesn’t really do anything innovative or out of the ordinary but it pulls off the fundamentals with perfection so you’ll be quite satisfied with its quality.
In Trick or Treat, you play the role of an adventurer who’s going from door to door in search of delicious candy, and, while this task might seem like a pretty easy one at first, you quickly realize that dangerous things are occurring so you have to be careful as you wander through the spooky Halloween night. The plot isn’t as in-depth as what we’ve come to expect from traditional adventure maps, but this is a negligible issue in this particular game because there’s not really a lot of room to give the plot any major detail in this particular case since the setting is fairly straightforward.
The Trick or Treat map comes with a variety of quests to complete, top-notch dialogue sequences, various NPCs to interact with, candy to collect, and a ton of other stuff to keep busy with. It’s important to remember that this map should be played on Minecraft 1.12.2 because it’ll run into compatibility issues with older versions of the game. It’s worth remembering that Trick or Treat supports multiplayer as well so you’ll be able to play it alongside a friend if you don’t feel like embarking on the adventure alone.
