The ClayWorldGen mod makes every Minecraft world spawned after it has been installed look and feel more realistic with the addition of clay. Now you might say you’ve already seen plenty of clay on hills, literal mountains of the stuff, especially in massive desert biomes where clay spawns commonly. However, there’s no clay at all when you’re digging in the dirt and stone, though there certainly should be! That’s an error this mod looks to fix and it does this well, adding veins of different types of clay to your world as it is being generated. This mod will not work for worlds which have already generated.
That said, if you want to use the Clay WorldGen mod, you’re going to need to start fresh. Picking a seed you really like may not get you the world you think it will either, since this mod deeply affects Minecraft’s world generation procedure. Clay will appear in veins much like any precious ore or gems and the size of these (and the number of clay blocks per vein) is customizable. You can change the parameter anytime using the mod’s config file, and you could even configure it to spawn randomly and with random dimensions if you don’t want to get your hands dirty.
On top of this, you can decide the depths at which the clay spawns. Should it be closer to the surface or should it be down at the bottom of the world? You make the decision. It is important to note the Clay WorldGen mod doesn’t affect the spawning of colored or hardened clay types. All you get with this mod is standard clay, which you would normally find around the perimeters of islands just under the water, or in bayous or swamps around the world. It’s great for getting your hands on bricks, but this mod does little else to alter Minecraft.
