Construction is such a major part of Minecraft, it’s no wonder there are so many mods out there which focus on this aspect of the game. The Laser Level mod aims to help players create straight lines and place accurate numbers of blocks to get exactly what is intended. If you’ve ever built a house, an animal pen or some other structure and found out you went one or two blocks too far to one side or another, this is the mod for you. Using laser lighting, it adds levels to the game, just like those ruler-shaped things with the little balls floating in fluid.
However, this level uses lasers instead, probably since that was easier to program. Thankfully, you don’t need any modding experience to install or use this mod and no modloaders are required either. Just drag and drop the Laser Level mod file into your Minecraft mods folder and it is installed, simple as that. Once you’ve done this, you can open up the custom GUI in game with the F12 key. Then you can modify the settings, colors and whatnot to tailor this mod to your specific tastes. It’s easy to install, easy to use and highly accessible – all signs you’re dealing with a good mod.
You don’t just get solid beams either. You can set the lasers to leave little dots which hover in the air, as often as you like. Make it every single block or every ten blocks, whatever you need for the construction project you’re working on currently. Then you can reset the beams back to their defaults when you’re done, allowing you to quickly change them again to suit your next job. For Minecraft players seeking construction aids, the Laser Level mod is a worthy addition. Otherwise, it doesn’t really do much to change the game, so you could probably ignore it.
