Classic Combat Mod

Classic Combat is a mod that isn’t necessarily like most mods out there because, instead of adding new functionality to the game, it’s actually been designed to undo changes that were made in an update. With the introduction of version 1.9 of Minecraft, the game’s combat system was actually given a pretty significant overhaul, and a lot of players weren’t really happy with how the changes worked. Players who spent hours upon hours mastering the traditional combat were disappointed as well because a lot of the key components were changed. Thankfully, though, the Classic Combat mod will allow you to revert the combat back to the old system so, if you aren’t a fan of the new combat, you’ll definitely like this mod.

The Classic Combat mod doesn’t exactly fully revert the game back to its old combat system but, instead, it makes a whole bunch of changes that simulate the older combat system. The biggest change made by this mod is that it removes the annoying cooldown system that the 1.9 update introduced. Basically, the system meant that your weapon would deal increasingly less damage depending on how frequently it was used and, in order to make its damage go back to normal again, you would have to wait a while for it to cooldown. However, thanks to this mod, your weapon will always deal its attack value in damage, and you won’t have to worry about any cooldowns.

One thing that we like a lot about the Classic Combat mod is the fact that it manages to retain all the good features that came with the 1.9 update which is why you’ll still have access to things like dual wielding. It’s worth keeping in mind, though, that the mod doesn’t get rid of the cooldown indicator so it’ll still keep showing, but you don’t need to worry at all because it’s purely visual and doesn’t impact the gameplay in any way.

How to install Classic Combat Mod?

1. Download the mod!
2. When you haven’t installed Minecraft Forge yet, download and install it.
3. Move the downloaded .jar into the mods folder.
4. Have fun!
