The CreamCake resource pack is DrMewLuzoniensis’ first attempt at making a resource pack and, surprisingly enough, it’s quite solid. It’s an incredibly high-quality pack that definitely looks like it was made by an expert creator who has a lot of experience making these things for Minecraft. CreamCake has a very distinct look that we haven’t ever seen in run-of-the-mill Minecraft packs, and this distinct look is one of the main reasons we recommend trying it out. The pack might not be the best out there, and it certainly comes with its fair share of flaws but, for a first attempt, it’s absolutely spot-on.
The goal of the CreamCake resource pack is to make it so that all the textures of Minecraft synergize perfectly with each other. A lot of Minecraft packs have really high-quality textures, but the problem with these packs is that the textures don’t work well with one another and this leads to some pretty weird visuals but, fortunately, this problem doesn’t exist in CreamCake. The color palette used by the pack is quite similar to the one used in the vanilla resource pack, so you’ll definitely enjoy what this pack has to offer if you enjoy Minecraft’s default look.
Alongside all its other great features, another awesome characteristic of the CreamCake resource pack is that it performs incredibly well. Even if you’re playing Minecraft on a very low-end/outdated computer, you’ll be able to use this pack without any troubles, and this is mainly thanks to 8×8 resolution that it’s been built on. The low resolution might put a few players off, but it’s ultimately a worthwhile change because it boosts the pack’s performance by a tremendous amount.
