The Eiramoticons mod for Minecraft doesn’t necessarily add much to the game in terms of gameplay, but it definitely makes it much more enjoyable by implementing emoticons into the game. Emoticons, also referred to as emoji nowadays, are basically facial expressions that you can send to your friends or comrades while chatting to give a much clearer picture of what your expressions are at any given time. Of course, this isn’t a game changing feature that would take your experience to the new level but it’s still a pretty nice addition that’ll surely make the experience more enjoyable, especially if you chat with your friends often in-game.
The Eiramoticons mod’s been out for a bit less than a year now and since then it has been downloaded over 60,000 times which is quite impressive. When it was first released it had mostly the standard emoticons but with the passage of time, it’s been improved significantly and as of right now it has multitudes of different emoticons that players can utilize in-game through the chat such as the Twitch emoticons and the BetterTwitchTV emotes.
Other than the regular emoticons, Eiramoticons also has a few other standout features. It comes with a full-fledged API that allows other mods to use the Eiramoticons API for their own purposes. It also has a custom emote option that, as the name already implies, allows you to create custom emoticons of your very own. Custom emoticons can be things like images, name tags or any other creative thing that you can think of. It’s worth remembering though that custom emotes are only available locally. The mod does has a few compatibility issues with chat mods like TabbyChat but most of the time it works just fine so if you’re interested in adding emoticons to your Minecraft experience, give this mod a shot.
