While the Hillside Manor map may just appear to be any old map featuring a massive home for the player to move into, that couldn’t be further from the truth. If you spend just a half hour moving along in any direction, you’re apt to find a huge pyramid dungeon in a desert, or the massive sponge farm near a small cabin, or hidden valleys loaded with other suitable places to set up and build a home. This map has a whole world in it just waiting to be discovered, with so much man-made material you’ll swear you couldn’t possibly be playing Minecraft.
The most recent version of the Hillside Manor map adds NPC villages, two of them to be precise. One is near the sponge farm mentioned above, while the other can be seen from the top of the tower. That, you’ll know when see; it’s the tallest building around and makes for a great vantage point to check out all the work the author did on this map. There’s a kit to explore, but if you’re just looking to kill time you might want to check out the giant water slide too. That runs a good circuit around many of the map’s cooler elements, plus it’s a lot closer than the tower.
