The Howling Moon mod is unique among Minecraft mods in that it allows the player character to become something completely different. In this case, the player can transform into a werewolf, gaining access to all kinds of powers and abilities they would never normally have. Werewolves move faster, have greater endurance and do more damage than their human counterparts, and these abilities are affected further by the character’s Savagery, which can be checked in GUI. All of this comes at a cost to the player. Also, while transformed, you can only eat meat, which could make you starve to death.
By combining a wolfsbane flower with an empty book, you can create a kind of guide to lycanthropy, which contains general information about the mod and the method of transformation. Unfortunately, you’ll need to go find a wild werewolf, get into a fight with the thing and survive the encounter if you want to change. On the next night of the full moon, your character will transform whether you want it to or not, and this will happen whether you’re sitting indoors, digging down into the earth or out and about walking around in the wilderness. Wherever you are, when the moon shows up, you change.
Howling Moon Mod Showcase:
The change can also happen instantly if you happen to get into a fight with a werewolf and the moon is full on that night. Once this happens, you can open the custom GUI to change your appearance and check your special abilities at a glance. You can turn night vision on and off with a click, and if you like, you can continue to use your weapons and tools as a werewolf, or check the box that forces you to keep your paws empty at all times for a more realistic experience.
