Lab Rat is a captivating map that’s perfect for players who want to experience what it would be like to be subject to tons upon tons of different tests and challenges. Adventure maps have always been known to come with captivating plots but, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case in this particular map. Lab Rat’s plot is pretty straightforward but, thankfully, the map’s engaging gameplay and immersive game world more than make up for the lack of a properly thought out plot. All things considered, if the lack of a plot is something that you can deal with, Lab Rat is sure to deliver.
As mentioned earlier, the plot of the map is quite simple and straightforward. In this map, you play the role of a test subject who has to complete tons upon tons of challenges in order to make it out of a maze. The map’s plot might not carry that much depth but, again, the high-quality gameplay does an excellent job of making up for this flaw. Onto the specifics of the gameplay, Lab Rat will take you through a variety of different puzzle and parkour sequences and each one of them is sure to test your Minecraft skills. We want to point out that the map is quite challenging so it’s probably best to steer clear of it if you aren’t truly adept at the game.
Onto the technical side of things, Lab Rat is absolutely immaculate. The map is expertly crafted and doesn’t seem to have any bugs or glitches at all and, due to this, your experience with it should be quite smooth. It’s worth mentioning, though, that the map needs to be played in game mode 2 and requires Minecraft 1.11.2 to function properly. Also, the Lab Rat map supports multiplayer but it’s recommended that you play it in single player to avoid running into technical difficulties.
