Minecraft Minigolf is a map that doesn’t really need much explanation. Unless you’ve never played minigolf before, in which case you might want to keep reading this review and learn something. Just like the real-life game, this minigolf map sets you on a starting block at the beginning of each hole and has you making shots to try and get the ball, which you set with the Q button, into the goal. Because some serious modding would be needed to actually make a golf game in Minecraft, this map uses slippery ice blocks to keep things moving, as if they were sailing through the air instead.
The end result is a pretty fun map if you like minigolf. But even if you don’t, the Minigolf map is still a great way for friends to get together and play a game. In total, you have 63 different holes, with 4 different courses in total. There’s lots of running and jumping to get yourself around, but obstacles, smart design, and the occasional trapped block will all try to prevent you from scoring. Thankfully, you and your friends won’t need to keep track of your throws, or “shots” on your own; the map features a scoreboard built right in thanks to command blocks.
