The Mo’ Villages mod is one of those Minecraft mods which was made redundant by the release of version 1.12.2 of the game client. Basically, this mod allows for the generation of more NPC villages when creating a new world, as well as a change to the makeup of structures, which can now spawn including bricks and other materials instead of just wood and cobblestone. Also, villages will appear in biomes where they normally would not, and this is something the latest version of Minecraft still hasn’t addressed, so in this one way, the mod isn’t totally redundant.
Name of Villages in Mo’ Villages Mod
- Extreme Hills
- Forest
- Taiga
- Swamp
- Ice Plains/Mountains
- Mushroom
- Jungle
- Roofed Forest
- Birch Forest
- Cold Taiga
- Mesa
- Savanna
In fact, finding a safe haven in the middle of a taiga or snow biome, or even up in tall mountains, can be pretty nice. The location of the villages doesn’t really affect what goods will be available for trade, or what buildings will spawn – everything seems as random as ever, except that you can count on the number of villages being much higher. The Mo’ Villages mod is best installed using the Magic Loader tool, which can easily be found with a quick online search. The mod works with Minecraft up to version 1.12.2, but more updates are in the future for this popular addition.
