The Monster Industries map is a Minecraft-based take on tower defense and a couple of other map types are rolled into one entity. Getting started is pretty easy and there’s even a short guide on the map’s website for getting new players off the ground and on their feet. Most of the gameplay is running around between pressure plates while trying to gather resources to summon monsters. These are limited in scope, however – you only need coal, gunpowder, bones, and spider eyes to summon everything available on this map. All of these can be gathered near where you start the game.
The point is to basically come up with the right combination of monsters using the right combinations of resources to totally overwhelm your opponent. Even while you’re trying to wipe them out, they will be summoning monsters and dumping them into your base to try and wipe you out, so the action is tense right from the beginning. Unless of course you’re playing against an opponent who has no idea what he’s doing – but then you kind of deserve the boring game you get for pulling a move like that. The Monster Industries map is definitely unique among Minecraft maps so give it a try.
