More Bows Mod for Minecraft 1.8

The More Bows mod is the perfect addition to Minecraft for players who prefer to do combat from a long range – well away from the overpowered axes and swords which can cut down a person wearing full Protection IV diamond armor in two or three hits. The bows added by this mod tend to last longer than your run of the mill wooden bow, and many of them come with specialized effects as well. Everything starts with the simple reinforced bow, which is made using a standard bow at full condition and combining it with some more string, a stick and a couple stone blocks.

Once you’ve reinforced a normal bow, you’ll be ready to branch off into all the other bows added by the More Bows mod. There are simple iron, gold and diamond versions which do progressively more damage and have a long life (except for gold, which breaks pretty quickly). Then there are a number of specialty bows like the ender bow, which teleports the target upon hit, or the flame bow which inherently burns targets, or the frost bow which can freeze or slow down the things it shoots. All of these last about as long as the standard iron bow.

The More Bows mod works just fine in single player mode but there have been reports of errors on the server side when trying to implement it for online play. The best thing you can do is use the latest version of Minecraft while using this mod since it was specifically designed to work with Minecraft 1.8. Older versions of the game will undoubtedly cause errors to pop up. You won’t be seeing any special enchanted arrows or anything like that here, though they would have been nice alongside the specialty bows. Still, this mod is great for those who prefer ranged combat.
