Mystic Divination is an insanely clever Minecraft mod that’s probably among the most innovative magic based mods we’ve ever seen. There’s currently an extraordinary amount of magic base mods available for Minecraft but a lot of these mods feel quite similar to one another, and they don’t really have any distinct characteristics that would make them worth while but, thankfully, this isn’t the case with Mystic Divination. The mod implements a variety of creative new elements alongside the traditional magic based gameplay in order to make for a refreshing and engaging gameplay experience for anyone who gives the mod a shot.
The thing that defines the Mystic Divination mod is the fact that it implements a morality system into the game. The morality system basically gives players a morality meter that increases or decreases depending on the actions they perform while in-game. If players perform actions that can be deemed as good then their morality will increase but, on the other hand, evil actions can end up reducing morality. The morality system is important because it heavily influences the magical abilities that players have access to so, for instance, if your morality is on the lower end of the spectrum then you’ll be able to cast abilities that boost your strength but, if your morality is high, you’ll be able to cast spells that bolster your defenses. Of course, it goes without saying that there’s a lot more depth to the system than what we’ve told you here, so we definitely recommend giving the mod a shot to see first hand what it has to offer.
As for the magic itself, Mystic Divination is absolutely spot-on. All the magical abilities featured in this mod synergize quite nicely with Minecraft’s traditional gameplay, and they don’t feel too overpowered either, so they won’t disrupt the game’s balance in any major way.
