Have you ever wanted to have total control over a city in Minecraft? While it isn’t anywhere as interactive as the Sim City series of games, the Oakhold map will put players right in the middle of a massive city, called Oakhold. You are in control of Oakhold and by utilizing a control panel in the main room of the city, you can do things like launch fireworks off into the sky, open and close gates, play custom sounds and songs, and more. The city works perfectly even on vanilla Minecraft versions, but it will still look better if you have Optifine installed thanks to connected textures.
With a relatively small size of about 50 MB, Oakhold isn’t a very large map by Minecraft standards. It still features more than two dozen unique apartments, as well as a collection of different houses and even towers which would all make good places to move into and set up a base for you and your friends. Naturally, there is a castle for the ruler of the city, as well as several sites you’d expect to see in a castle, like a bank, blacksmith, and armorer just to name a few. The layout makes Oakhold a great map for Minecraft with a medieval theme even without all the bells and whistles.
