PokeCraft Resource Pack for Minecraft 1.8.3

PokeCraft has always been a popular resource pack for Minecraft fans who also love Nintendo’s hit game series about taming and training various monsters. It features many bright, pastel colors which bring to mind the simple look of old Game Boy Color graphics, even if some of the textures are more complicated than anything those old machines could have mustered in their time. With regular updates keeping it functional right up to Minecraft 1.8.3, PokeCraft resource pack is one of the most up-to-date resource packs available for the game, but it still isn’t ready to work with the latest version of Minecraft, which is 1.8.

Even without the various Pokemon-themed mods which make it excellent, PokeCraft is still a nice enough resource pack that changes the look of many monsters throughout the game, making them look like critters right out of Pokemon. While the original creator of PokeCraft has since passed on the project to another resource pack enthusiast, PokeCraft resource pack is still seeing regular updates and should work fine with even the latest version of Minecraft, which is 1.8. It is a meager 16x resource pack which adds no new elements to the game, so installing it is easy enough as well.

However, with all the different Pokemon mods with are highly complementary to PokeCraft resource pack, you will still want to pick up MCPatcher or another mod management tool. Using a combination of mods with the right loader can help you realize the true potential of PokeCraft by adding hundreds of different monsters, battles, trading and other elements to your Minecraft world while making it look more or less like a first-person version of Pokemon. Even without all the extra effort though, PokeCraft is still a decent resource pack.
