Trollscape is a creative puzzle map that we absolutely recommend puzzle fanatics try out because its gameplay is quite unlike that of all the traditional puzzle maps we’ve experienced over the years. Most Minecraft puzzle maps require players to be quite adept at the gameplay mechanics of Minecraft or they usually aren’t able to solve all the challenges but the Trollscape map doesn’t require players to be that skilled at Minecraft’s mechanics. Instead, the map’s gameplay relies a lot more on in-game knowledge so it’s perfect for players who are confident in the amount of knowledge they have about Minecraft but don’t necessarily have the skill to back it up.
Trollscape takes place in a peaceful village. You’ll get to play the role of an ordinary blacksmith who was about to go home to get some work done but, all of a sudden, you get a strange idea to visit the old haunted house that’s been in the village for years. The house didn’t seem like much from the outside but, upon entering it, you realize that there’s a lot more to it than initially meets the eye. Now it’s up to you to outplay and outthink the trolls that have lived in this house for many years so you can make your way out and head back home in one peace.
We can’t really go into the specifics of Trollscape’s gameplay without spoiling the map’s experience but, all things considered, we want to point out that this map features some of the most creative gameplay moments that we’ve ever experienced in Minecraft puzzle maps. All said and done, Trollscape is a very well thought out and innovative puzzle map that’s great for players who want an out of the ordinary experience that doesn’t rely on the usual puzzle map clichés.
