This brand new resource pack does what many other resource packs have already done – it improves the look of Minecraft’s vanilla textures using a boosted resolution and better graphics. Unlike many other “faithful” resource packs, Ty’s Vanilla+ pack manages to do this without actually increasing the resolution of anything. It maintains the original 16x look of Minecraft but it doesn’t maintain the original appearance of anything. Well, it kind of does, in the sense that you can still tell what blocks are from a glance. But things look better than normal thanks to this pack, there’s no doubt about that.
Ty’s Vanilla+ resource pack is new, very new in fact, having released just today on June 15, 2015. It goes without saying that it is compatible with the latest version of Minecraft, but what should be mentioned is the fact all the textures get updates thanks to this pack. Unlike a lot of older faithful resource packs which become less and less relevant as time passes and new textures are added to Minecraft, this pack has the benefit of being brand new and having a new image for everything, at least for the moment. No doubt it may fall behind future releases of Minecraft like other packs, but it’s on top of things right now.
There is also another pack meant to work alongside Ty’s Vanilla+ pack. It allows for some 3D models to be active despite the low resolution of Ty’s pack. This requires a separate download, but if you can find Ty’s Vanilla+ pack then you will probably be able to find the secondary pack in the same place. If you can’t, just search for default 3D at PlanetMinecraft and that should help you find what you’re looking for.
