As far as the story goes, What It’s Like delivers one of the most heartfelt plots that the entire adventure map category has to offer. Most adventure maps are known for their well thought out and high-quality plots but, in spite of this, the plot of this particular map goes above and beyond to give players an immersive and exhilarating experience. In terms of gameplay, What It’s Like is definitely one of the easier adventure maps out there but, in spite of this, it’s still really engaging, and you’ll definitely have a nice time as you go through it.
In What It’s Like, you play the role of a strange man who seems to have forgotten what his identity is and where he is. The man has pretty much lost all memory and has no idea what to do but, this won’t stop him from trying to figure out who he is and what purpose his life has. The plot might seem a bit too straightforward on paper but, once you actually get into the map, you’ll see that there’s actually an insane amount of depth to it, and is actually one of the most creative stories that the adventure map category has to offer.
The majority of What It’s Like’s gameplay consists of completing various challenges to progress further into the map. The challenges aren’t really that difficult, but you can make them slightly easier by turning on subtitles. In order to enjoy the map the way it was meant to be enjoyed, we recommend playing it with music off, all particles enabled, clouds off, render distance set to 11+, resource packs turned off and the master volume set to a value that’s above 20%. Overall, What It’s Like is an absolutely phenomenal adventure map that does not cease to impress.
