Zombie Steaks Mod for Minecraft 1.8

For those of you with cannibalistic urges, the Zombie Steaks mod is exactly what you’ve been waiting for in Minecraft. Rotten flesh is usually a last resort food, eaten only when you’re starving to death and only to get enough food so you can run back home as fast as possible. But with this mod, you can treat your rotten flesh with a snowball and then use the new meat in a furnace to start pumping out tasty steaks. Well, no, they probably don’t taste all that good – but they won’t poison you anymore either. You can even use the cooked zombie meat to feed your dogs like normal, so that’s nice.

You don’t need any special materials or other mod-only items to make this work and that’s probably the best part about it. The Zombie Steaks mod takes rotten flesh, snowballs and fire, all elements which already exist in Minecraft, and simply lets you create a new item when combining them all together. The process is just like cooking raw beef or pork, except it uses treated rotten flesh instead. The author has made it clear you can include this mod with any mudpack you might be putting together, as long as it remains free to use and open source, like it is now.

While you might find other food mods a bit more appetizing, this mod is unique in that it takes a nearly useless item from vanilla Minecraft and makes it into something you might actually consider carrying on you and eating while out in the field. With this new source of edible meat, you can do away with your livestock farms and simply be free, killing zombies and eating them up as you roam the world with no home or farm to anchor you to a place.
