When horses were introduced to Minecraft, many played were very happy with the new means of transportation. Granted, finding a saddle and some decent horse armor can take many trips to many dungeons, but horses are worth all the work. They’re faster than minecarts on powered rail and can leap some pretty great heights – nearly four blocks off the ground with a fully charged jump. Perhaps the best thing about them, though, is that you can still perform actions while riding a horse. Because they can be such an important part of the game to some players, the Better Horse HUD mod is very popular.
For starters, this mod displays the user’s hunger and health right next to the mount’s health, so there’s no need to hop off every time you run through a number of mobs. You will know when it is time to heal your horse, from a glance. Because players complained about not being able to see their experience bar while riding, the Better Horse HUD mod removes the jump bar unless the player is jumping. This leaves the experience bar visible the rest of the time while riding. This is a small mod which only does a few things, but it improves experiences with horses by a great deal.
