Because the Gerudoku Faithful resource pack is one of those special HD packs, you’ll want to follow the installation instructions at the pack website completely. Don’t install the parts out of order or in different locations, and for the love of all things that are good, make sure you have Optifine or MCPatcher installed before you try installing this. If you don’t, you’re going to be missing out on connected glass and other textures that make Minecraft look a lot better. You can get by without them of course, but why are you even looking for a resource pack if you don’t want to install it correctly?
Getting on to the content, Gerudoku Faithful is a very thorough, very good looking resource pack. The item palette could be one of the best in any realistic resource pack, and you’re going to be impressed with the amount of detail which has gone into items and equipment, from simple inventory icons to the actual goods being held in your hand. Terrain blocks, paintings, mobs and more all get a facelift here, though oddly it looks as if water and lava don’t appear to be very different at all. Maybe it has something to do with the difficulty in animating these two fluids.
The lava and water in your Minecraft world will really stand out because of this, and it’s really up to you whether this is a good or bad thing. This pack includes a number of icons and images which will go unused in vanilla Minecraft – this means it has support for mods which add new weapons and other items to the game. There are about a dozen different sword images, and that’s just for starters.
