Who doesn’t want a few minions following them around in Minecraft? While there are many mods which add helpers that can be summoned to do basic operations for the player, the Minions mod is the only one that actually adds Minion characters from the Despicable Me series to Minecraft. If you’re a fan of the little yellowish-green guys in overalls then you’ll probably really like this mod. On the other hand, if their gibberish language and constant noise offends you, then this might not be the mod for you. The mod add one-eyed male, two-eyed male and female and evil purple minions, along with a new dog.
The golden retriever isn’t very different from your typical tamed wolf, so don’t expect much there. Naturally, the real stars of the Minions mod are the actual minions, and this is for a couple of reasons. First, you can toggle the AI for all of the minions, dog included. Right clicking them will switch between villager AI, no AI, companion AI, wolf AI, Pick me AI and Panic AI. Some settings will have them defend you to the death against enemies or keep them sitting at home, though you must be holding a stick in your hands when right clicking to toggle the AI patterns mentioned here.
Right clicking your minions with anything else will simply give them the item, so you can give your friends weapons and armor to give them increased damage and durability too. None of the minions seem to really have any special powers, except for the one-eyed male minion, and even that doesn’t really help you much. See, the one-eyed male minion will randomly spawn a Kevin entity. Kevin carries dynamite and will happily light and drop it near your home or other constructs, griefing your world. You might be able to use this to harm opponents, but that’s about all it’s good for.]
