MobCages is a pretty useful mod for situations in which you’d like to transport a certain mob from one place to another without having to deal with any troubles that said mob might cause you. As you could probably tell from its name, the mod implements cages into the game and these cages can be used to store mobs. Once the mobs have been stored, you can transport them from one place to another by simply carrying them in your inventory. The mod can be used in a variety of different scenarios and is overall something that’ll add a lot of convenience to the Minecraft experience.
In order to use the MobCages, you’ll first have to craft the cage itself. The recipe to craft the cage is pretty straightforward and the materials used are fairly common as well so you probably won’t run into any major difficulties when trying to craft the cage. In order to use the cage all you have to do is equip it, walk up to the mob of interest and then right click to cage it. It’s important to remember that you can only cage mobs that are passive and have been properly tamed, mobs that are hostile cannot be caged under any circumstance.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that once a cage has been closed, you cannot open it with a simple click. If you want to open a closed cage, then you’ll need to craft the Cage Opener. If you can’t seem to find the resources required to craft the Cage Opener, then you can also use certain special crowbars or wrenches that have been added to the game through other mods. All things considered, MobCages is a pretty straightforward mod that implements a very useful feature that a lot of players will find useful.
