The Pebbles resource pack is just one of several different packs from the same author, Scamper3396. This author’s packs run a wide range of themes, from modern to fantasy to rustic and medieval, which is where Pebbles lies. The pack features many textures that look beaten up and damaged, as if they were left out in the rain and wind to survive the weather and just see whatever happens. That’s not to say they all look bad though. For every block or piece of furniture that looks like it was made from a bunch of scrap wood nailed together, there are just as many items that simply look exquisite.
The Pebbles pack features some 3D models as well, though these won’t be found in every texture. Oddly common items like crafting tables do get the texture boost though, so even if you don’t play Minecraft long enough to make it to the end game on your world, you’ll still get to see the best of what this resource pack has to offer. Because it is very much a work which is still in progress, it’s also kind of hard to say bad things about Pebbles, Sure, maybe not every block and item gets the 3D effect, but perhaps they will once development is finished.
Not all of the textures are great though. Lava looks especially bad and basic, though to be fair there are very few resource packs which make lava and water look good, let alone giving them decent flowing animations. If bad liquids are a problem for you, you might want to stay away from the Pebbles resource pack. Otherwise it’s fair game for anyone seeking a Minecraft world that looks different and new.
