The Legend of Zelda is one of the most popular gaming franchises in the world, with titles that span a number of consoles and portable gaming systems. Even with the fame and recognition, you probably never would have guessed you’d see Link and friends showing up in your Minecraft world, eh? As far as resource packs go, A Link to the Past is pretty solid. Right from the screen where you can choose to go Single or Multi player, you’ll see the GUI has been changed to look like that of A Link to the Past – all black boxes surrounded by white borders.
The grass you find growing randomly looks like the small plants you can chop down with your sword, too. The new textures extend past environmental blocks and into the mobs as well, so the next time a zombie is chasing you it will actually look like one of the armored guards from Castle Hyrule. At least the chickens don’t beat you to death if you knock them around a little. Naturally, a resource pack like A Link to the Past wouldn’t be complete if it didn’t change a few weapon textures as well, and you can count on wielding the Master Sword just like Link if you install this one.
As for the negatives, there really isn’t too much to say about this resource pack. It features a low resolution so most players can use it without experiencing and slowdown. It’s also a relatively new resource pack, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume there will be updates in the near future. Textures could get improved, removed or replaced before the product is finished, though it is a perfectly functional pack as it is now.
