The Contemporary 64x resource pack is a simple and elegant pack that aims to provide its users with a realistic and engaging Minecraft experience. Unlike most other modern day packs, it doesn’t try to change the traditional look of the game in any significant way and only tries to make the visuals look as realistic and immersive as they possibly can. It does this through some very clever texturing techniques and by making the colors much more lively and vibrant. Overall it’s a very solid pack that’s definitely worth looking into if you want to make Minecraft to look a tad bit more realistic.
As soon as you get into the game after applying Contemporary 64x, you’ll see that the textures have been refined to a pretty significant degree. Most textures have completely been stripped off the unnecessary clutter that they usually contain, and this in-turn leads to a much cleaner, sleek and visually appealing game. The water textures look especially impressive and are definitely some of the best that we’ve seen in quite some time now. Alongside this, the pack also makes significant improvements to the in-game grass and this coupled with the excellent color palette makes the landscapes an absolute delight to look at.
It’s worth noting that the Contemporary 64x texture pack is that it’s still far from completion. As of right now it’s just under 40% completed which isn’t really that surprising seeing as it’s only been a few months since it came out. However, it’s updated on a fairly regular basis so it won’t be long before it’s fully completed. The pack looks its best when used in conjunction Sonic Ether’s Unbelievable Shaders so it’s definitely recommended that you use both these things together but keep in mind that you’ll need a beefy PC to do this without running into frame-rate problems.
