Dragon Shouts Mod for Minecraft 1.8

Anyone who has played The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim before will already know what to expect from the Dragon Shouts Mod. This essentially adds the Shouts from Skyrim to Minecraft, allowing the player to shove enemies and friendly mobs alike all aside by using the power of The Voice. Fus Ro Dah may be the most famous shout from Skyrim, but many others also made it into this mod, which is actually quite extensive for a Minecraft mod. There are shouts for breathing fire or ice, moving at super speeds over a short distance and much more, just like in Skyrim.

The best thing about the Dragon Shouts Mod is that if you install it on a server, everyone playing will have access to those shouts as well. It may not exactly be like playing Skyrim online with other people since the combat is still rather simple, but if you were to combine this mod with others that add magic and other RPG elements to Minecraft, you could have yourself a very entertaining server. It’s fun to use the shouts to bully and beat up random monsters, but when you’re playing against other people who can also use the shouts it’s a bit more intense – and fun.

It doesn’t appear that every single shout from Skyrim made it into the Dragon Shouts Mod for Minecraft, but many of the shouts did get imported. In addition to the abilities already mentioned, you can shout to slow down time and move at a normal speed while everyone around you is pretty much paralyzed for a few moments. You can even control the weather to a degree with the Storm Call shout, which will make it start raining. That’s a total of 6 shouts, which is enough to make Minecraft feel like Skyrim without breaking the game.

1. Backup your world!
2. Install Minecraft Forge using its installer.
