The Hot Potato is a fairly simple map that you’ll definitely want to try out if you’re looking for a simple and straightforward game map that isn’t too hard to get into. Most game maps in Minecraft are quite exciting but the problem with a lot of them is that there are tons upon tons of different mechanics in them that players need to learn before they can enjoy everything that the map has to offer. However, in Hot Potato, there isn’t any complex gameplay at all so you’ll be able to get the hang of it in mere minutes and will be able to enjoy it for pretty much as long as you want.
The gameplay of Hot Potato is quite simple because all you have to do is pass the hot potato around and make sure that it’s not in your hands when it explodes. The hot potato will start off cold and, over time, it’ll start warming up. The goal of the players is to keep passing it around until it gets too hot and explodes. If the potato is in your hands when it reaches its explosion temperature, you’ll explode alongside it and will then be taken out of the game so that the rest may continue.
It goes without saying that you’ll need at least two players to enjoy the Hot Potato map because this isn’t really a map that you can play on your own. Also, while the minimum requirement is of two people, we certainly recommend having as many people as you can because the map gets extremely enjoyable when a lot of people are playing it. Perhaps the best part about the Hot Potato map is that, due to its simplicity, it has a ton of replay value so you’ll be able to enjoy it over and over again.
