Inventory Crafting Grid Mod for Minecraft 1.8.8/1.8/1.7.10

Though some players will cry foul at the Inventory Crafting Grid mod because it removes an integral piece of Minecraft from the game, others will be all too happy to do away with crafting tables and the need to place them practically everywhere while carrying a few extra just in case. Simply put, this mod gives the user a 3×3 crafting grid while looking through their inventory. Normally you would only get the 2×2 grid which is good for making torches, flint and steel and a few other common items. This mod totally removes the need for crafting tables in Minecraft.

The inventory Crafting Grid mod was designed specifically for use in Survival mode. While it will work in Creative mode, some of the buttons will bug out and may not do what they’re supposed to do. Some recipes may also fail to create the intended item, so be wary of this. Hardcore mode is just a harsher version of Survival mode and the mod works fine with Hardcore too. There are no known major compatibility issues with this and other inventory mods, and Inventory Tweaks actually makes a nice complement to the Inventory Crafting Grid. The IT mod will just be a little confused is all.

There are some requirements to keep in mind as well. The Inventory Crafting Grid mod requires MC Forge for installation and loading purposes, and pretty much any version of Forge that works with Minecraft 1.8 will do the job. Also, yeah, you’ll need to be playing Minecraft 1.8.x if you want the mod to function properly. There are a couple of older versions which are compatible with Minecraft 1.4 and 1.5, as well as a more advanced version of this mod from the same author which includes expanded inventory space. The version reviewed here is the least disruptive to classic Minecraft gameplay though.
