The Iron Chests mod does what you might think from seeing the name – it allows you to craft iron chests, as well as chests made from a number of different materials, like diamonds, glass and more. Existing chests can be surrounded with the materials used to create the next tier of chest and upgraded in the player’s inventory on a whim as well, but this is technically a waste of materials. The same thing can be accomplished by using one piece of the lower tier materials and surrounding it with materials from the next tier up, so crafting chests in this mod is a relatively simple process.
In all, there are 7 different new chests added by the Iron Chests mod, including copper, iron, silver, gold, diamond, crystal and obsidian chests. The higher grade chests actually have significantly more storage space than traditional wooden chests, with some having enough space for twice as much as a wooden double chest, or even more. That means this mod is great for people who don’t want to go through the trouble of building up a treasure room – you can literally dump pretty much everything you’ll find during your game into just one single chest with this mod.
How to install Iron Chests Mod?
- Install Forge if you haven’t done it yet!
- Download Iron Chests mod from the download section.
- Put the JAR in your mods folder, but don’t extract or open it!
- Play!

I can’t get this working on my 1.12.2 Skyblock server, can anyone help?

I can run this mod just fine in 1.12. No crashes. BUT, the mod literally does nothing. IT DOESN’T EVEN SHOW UP ON THE MODS LIST IN THE MOD OPTIONS! When in game, the items do not show up in the creative inventory, and they are uncraftable. >:( Can you help me? Thx 🙂
I downloaded this and several other mods saying they were 1.12 compatible but they all keep crashing 🙁 am I being lied to or is there something wrong?
Is your Java up to date? The right Forge version? One of the other mods not playing nice with the rest? I had to remove Chisel because it crashed my game.

i cant craft the chests on 1.12
Everytime i opened my crystal chest my minecraft crashed. It worked fine the other days but today i tried to open it and it crashed. Anyway I can fix this?
i downloaded this mod for 1.11 but i cant make any of the chest other then a iorn, i tried the crafting resipes i have seen but nothing is working. were they changed?
to make a gold chest you need an iron chest
Using this, the diamond, crystal and obsidian chest are not networked like the ender chest. Am i missing something?

One of my favorite mods, add it to all my instances. Works pretty good with 1.9, although when mining one of the chests there are some textures missing.
It works really well on 1.9 1.10.2 and 1.11.2

i turned my chest chest full with stuff to an iron chest and it all my stuff was deleted
so sad m8 so sad
